Passive Fire Protection
Summary
When fire protection is a top priority in any property, ensuring safety becomes essential. This scenario involved a 60-minute fire compartment wall that was outdated and failed to meet current regulations.
The works required demolition of the old wall and a new 60 minute Gyproc Shaftwall system to be installed. Along with fire-stopping measures, it's essential to ensure that pipes and ducting pass through the compartment wall in a way that maintains fire integrity. The existing fire-rated doors were reinstalled at the client's request, completing the fire compartment line.
All fire stopping work is carried out with full confidence, backed by training in the latest fire protection standards from BM Trada. Every protection measure is thoroughly documented and provided to the client upon completion..
Taking out and reinstalling the suspended ceiling and raised floor systems was essential to allow access for installation. The affected areas were then redecorated and cleaned, ensuring they were ready for handover.
